This easy to make pink gin fizz cocktail recipe is a great sweet treat. Can be made with pink gin or London dry gin, as the grenadine adds pink colour still!

A mix of ice, grenadine and lemon is served in a large gin glass with more ice.
Top it up to taste with your choice of fizz, either soda water or if you prefer it sweet, lemonade.
A simple New Years Eve cocktail recipe. Gin Fizz is perfect all year round for Summer and Christmas drinks too.

We give both UK & US measurements for this recipe. In England, we work in the metric system of ml and a single shot is only 25ml.
In America, they use imperial measurements a single shot is 1.5oz, which when converted to UK measurement is 44ml. So you may want to adjust measurements to suit?

Ingredients for Pink Gin Fizz?
Ice
Plenty of ice is needed, use small cubes for when mixing the gin cocktail in the shaker.
We make our own large square ice cubes for inside the cocktail glass.
Gin Or Pink Gin
The best gin to use is down to personal preference? Or what you already have in the cupboard! In the pictured recipe, we used a supermarket branded London Dry Gin.
You can use pink gin instead if preferred.
We measure a double shot (50ml) for each gin fizz cocktail. However, you can do single if you want it weaker?
Grenadine
Use a single shot (25ml) of grenadine, this is what gives the gin cocktail a beautiful pink colour whilst adding a tart, sweet flavour.
Grenadine is made from pomegranates and commonly used in cocktails.
Lemon
Use freshly squeezed lemon juice for the best cocktails. Half a lemon squeezed should give enough for a single shot (25ml) measure.
Lemon slices also make a great cocktail garnish, seen below.
Mix the ice, gin, grenadine and lemon juice together in a cocktail shaker.
Pour on top of ice & lemon slices .
Soda Water or Lemonade
Add soda water at the end, to give fizziness to the pink gin fizz cocktail. Add as much or little as desired, by taste.
Of course, if you prefer a sweet gin fizz cocktail use lemonade instead.
How to sugar rim cocktail glasses?
So easy and quick to give your cocktail glass a sugar rim.
Just add grenadine or lemon juice on one plate, and caster sugar (superfine) in the other.
Dip the glass in the grenadine, lift and allow any excess to drip off. Then dip into the sugar.
We like to use grenadine to give a pink sugar rim. However, you can use lemon juice instead for a clear sugary rim.
Gin Fizz Cocktail Garnish Idea
Keep the garnish for your Gin Fizz cocktail simple. With slices of lemon propped up with ice inside the glass and a slice on the side.
We used a cocktail stick through a lemon swirl and added a little dried pink rosebud too.
