Chop off a small slice to make a flat bottom to stop Watermelon bowl from rocking. (see images)
Cut a larger section off on the opposite side, this is the Watermelon bowl opening.
Use a melon baller/rounded measuring spoon and twist to create watermelon balls. Keep making balls until no more flesh left to make a ball!
Scoop remaining flesh and juice out, leaving you with an empty watermelon shell. Cut a zigzag pattern into the opening of the watermelon bowl (this is optional!)
Pop watermelon balls back into the shell and feel free to add some additional chopped fruit.
Freezing leftover watermelon balls
Place a sheet of parchment paper on to a baking tray. Place the watermelon balls with gaps between and freeze for 2 hours.
Then you can place all balls into a freezer bag without them sticking together. Defrost and use as and when required. Or use as fruity icecubes!
