We all know it is not safe to eat mixture with raw egg, but did you know it is also unsafe to eat uncooked flour? Worry not this no-bake cookie dough with chocolate chunks is specially created to be edible straight away. Quick and easy to make in 10 minutes, with UK and US measurements given. Can be made ahead and frozen too!
Heat treat the flour to remove the chances of illness caused by raw flour.Put 250 grams Plain Flour heat in the microwave in 30-second intervals until hot throughout. A 900w microwave should take 1 minute.Alternatively, heat in a baking tray covered with baking paper. In preheated fan oven at 150°C / 300°F for 5 minutes.
Cream together the room temperature 170 grams Unsalted Butter, 100 grams Soft Light Brown Sugar and 100 grams Caster or Granulated Sugar
Add 1 teaspoon Vanilla Extract (optional) and a pinch salt to the mixture
Now add the treated flour a tablespoon at a time while mixing, until at the right texture. (You shouldn't need it all, if you add to much and its too dry you can add a splash of milk to correct it)
Add 100 grams chocolate chunks/chips or whatever it is you want to add using a silicone spoon
It is best to place it in the fridge (covered) so it can firm up before serving.
We serve ours spooned out into large balls for a dessert. . You can make smaller bite size balls for little treats, or even smaller chunks to add to ice cream!
