Onions sauteed until soft before the rice is cooked with Cinnamon, Cumin and Cardamon pods added for extra flavour. Making it so delicious, perfect side dish with any homemade Indian curry! Also great served up as a Vegetarian side dish
Saute diced onions in olive oil at low heat until soft and a golden colour. This should take about 10 minutes, be patient, don't turn heat up! orHeat 1/3 tin Eazy onions in a large lidded non stick pot/wok for 2 mins on a medium heat
Add the cinnamon stick, cardamom pods and ground cumin and garlic to the onions.
Add rinsed rice, stirring to coat in onion and spices. Add water, bring to the boil. Cover and reduce heat to a simmer.
Leave covered for 8 mins, then turn heat off. Leave covered & let it stand for 5 mins. Fluff it up with a fork. Remove cardamon pods and cinnamon stick before serving.
